Allentown Pennsylvania is rich in history and culture, and one of the most exciting things about it are the famous people who were born here! Here is a list of the most popular and well known people from Allentown PA.

In the sports category, there are quite a few of big names that came from Allentown. The Andretti’s, including Mario, Marco, and Michael, are famous race car drivers. They are well known in the area and still reside here today. They are famous for both Nascar and Indy car racing. Andre Reed is a famous football player. He played for both the Buffalo Bills and the Washington Redskins. Marty Nothstein is an Olympic Gold Medal winner for cycling. And last but not least, Larry Holmes. He is a world renounced heavyweight boxing champion, and still resides in the Lehigh Valley area.

As far as actors and actresses are concerned, the most famous would be Christine Taylor and The Rock (Dwayne Johnson). Christine is married to Ben Stiller, and both have appeared in too many movies to mention. My personal favorite was Christine’s appearance in the 90’s sitcom ‘Hey Dude’. The Rock was a professional WWE wrestler before turning to the big screen, where he has been in many movies.

In the singer and songwriter category, there is Keith Jarrett, who is a composer of classical and jazz music, as well as Sabrina Carpenter who appeared in ‘Girl Meets World’.

Lastly, in the writer category, was none other than Lauren Weisberger, who was born in Allentown PA. She wrote the famous ‘Devil Wears Prada’, which is an amazing book (and movie!).
